The White Knights were on the verge of beating Ahli for the first time since 2007 but mercurial midfielder Mohamed Barakat struck in stoppage time after making the most of a Ghanem blunder to secure a share of spoils.
Both sides clash again in the Egyptian Cup round of 16 on Wednesday and Ghanem is determined to make amends.
"I promise Zamalek fans that I will produce a display that will erase the errors I made in the last game," he told FilGoal.com on Monday.
"I'm eager to help Zamalek reach the quarter finals, this is a big challenge for us."
Ghanem was held responsible for Ahli's second goal when Barakat skipped past him in the build up and Emad Meteb rounded off the neat move.
Barakat came back to haunt him near the end after gathering his poor headed clearance on the left to cut inside and hit a remarkable equalizer.
"I sustained an injury during that game but I had to carry on," the 24-year-old added.
Ghanem has recently extended his Zamalek deal, which was due to expire at the end of the season, for three years.
