Ghaly, a former Ahli midfielder, has been mentioned as a possible transfer target for Zamalek this summer, with reports suggesting an agreement could be reached soon.
However, Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan denied the allegations, maintaining that signing the Egypt international would be a no-brainer.
"Of course Zamalek would like to sign a player like Ghaly, but the player's desire is crucial as well," said the twin brother of manager Hossam Hassan.
"If Ghaly wanted to join us we would have definitely welcomed him, but that didn’t happen.
"It is untrue we have reached an agreement with him."
In a television interview last year, Ghaly said he would never think of playing for Ahli's arch-rivals Zamalek if he decided to return to the Egyptian league.
The 28-year-old is on the verge of leaving Nassr after falling out with the club's board, as well as being deemed surplus to the requirements of new manager Walter Zenga.
