England started their preparation for the World Cup with a 3-1 victory over Mexico at Wembley.

First-half goals from Ledley King and Peter Crouch were followed by a wonder strike by Glen Johnson after the break as West Ham's Guillermo Franco scored Mexico's only goal.

England will play one more warm-up game with Japan before the South Africa finals, where they compete in Group C alongside USA, Algeria and Slovenia.

Mexico, who will play the opening match against hosts South Africa on June 11th, will face Holland, Portugal and Italy ahead of the big event.
