Ismaili goalie Essam Al-Hadari converted a decisive spot kick to give the Dervishes a penalty shootout win over Ittihad in the Egyptian Cup quarter finals on Saturday.

The Egypt keeper prevented Mahmoud Shaker from scoring Ittihad's third penalty before netting the last goal, to give Ismaili a 5-3 victory and send their fans into raptures.

Both teams drew 1-1 to send the game into penalty shootout.

Early in the first half, Mohamed Nagi 'Geddo' put Ismaili ahead with a close-range header, connecting with an Abdul-Hamid Hassan cross.

But Ismaili brought the score level in no time after Abdullah Al-Shahat, who was deployed as a left winger instead of the injured Ahmed Samir Farag, came unmarked to release an unstoppable shot from inside the area.

Shortly afterwards, Mohamed Selliti could have been rightfully awarded a penalty kick after he was brought down in the area by keeper Al-Hani Soliman but the referee didn't point at the spot.

Upon wining the game, Ismaili set up a semi-final meeting with Harras Hodoud who defeated Arab Contractors 3-1 on the same day.
