Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan declared that Morocco striker Hicham Aboucherouane has agreed to join the Whites this summer.

Aboucherouane, 29, became a free agent after his contract with Ittihad Jeddah expired recently, with no intention from the Saudi club to renew it.

"We entered serious talks with Aboucherouane who agreed in principle to join Zamalek," Hassan told FilGoal.com.

"He is a quality striker who is well-known in Egypt. I think he will be a great addition to our squad."

Hassan also revealed early-stage negotiations with former Ismaili striker Mostafa Karim, who plays for UAE's Sharjah.

More meetings

Hassan, who was handed the task of bringing in new players to bolster the squad of his twin brother Hossam, indicated that a busy summer is on the cards for the upgrading Whites.

"We will have more meetings with the board in order to discuss potential transfer targets and players who will be offloaded as well," he added.

"We are looking to add players of the same, or higher, caliber of those who are already with us. We only need players who will make real impact.

"As of those who want to leave, we are willing to listen to any offers. Any player who doesn’t want to be with us can leave."

Apart from Aboucherouane and Karim, Zamalek are believed to be in talks with Gouna duo Ahmed Omran and Hussein Ali.

On the other hand, players like Hani Saied, Ahmed Magdi, Sherif Ashraf and Ahmed Al-Merghani seem to be on their way out of the Cairo club.
