German referee to officiate cup final

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has assigned the Egyptian Cup final between Ahli and Harras Hodoud to German referee Felix Brych.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has assigned the Egyptian Cup final between Ahli and Harras Hodoud to German referee Felix Brych.

The EFA announced on their official website that the 34-year-old was hired upon the request of Ismaili, who called on the governing body to hire a foreign referee for Monday's game.

Ismaili bowed out after Hodoud beat them 2-1 in the semi-final round but the EFA appointed the match to Brych anyway.

Ahli reached the cup final after beating Military Production 2-1 on Thursday.
