The Desert Foxes, who squandered many scoring chances throughout the game, will play no more friendly matches ahead of this month's World Cup.
Algeria were awarded a spot kick for a handball shortly after the interval.
"I don't really care about the results of our friendly matches, it's the performances that matter the most," Algeria coach Rabah Saadane said after the game.
"Our display today was fairly balanced and we promise to be better during the World Cup."
