Antar Yahia implied that the offensive approach of Algeria supporters towards players could be demoralizing for the team ahead of the World Cup finals.

The Fennecs claimed an unconvincing 1-0 win over UAE in their final warm-up match on Saturday, but the victory was marred by boos and jeers from the Algerian fans.

Captain Yazid Mansouri and striker Abdelkader Ghezzal received most of the taunts as Karim Ziani's penalty was not enough to convince the angry fans.

"If the fans want to destroy the team, let them do it," Yahia, the man who scored the decisive qualifying goal against Egypt last November, told Algerian TV.

"Mansouri and Ghezzal do not deserve to be treated like this after all what they had given for the team in recent years."

Algeria open their World Cup campaign against Slovenia on June 13th.
