Brazilian striker Adriano returned to the Serie A but with Roma this time after signing a three-year contract with the capital club.
The former Inter Milan forward was sold to Flamengo in 2009 after a dramatic dip in form, that saw him suffering from depression.
But he rediscovered his for in Brazil and now he believes he is ready to sparkle in Italy.
"I am very happy to be at Roma and to play with the Giallorossi jersey. I hope it all goes well," Adriano said.
"I don't like making promises, but I know what I must do on the pitch and I say it will go well."
Adriano's first appearance with Roma will be the Italian Super Cup against Inter Milan in August.
"I am ready to take on Inter," he said.
"This is something I really care about and the reason I came back to Italy. I am here and must prove what I can do. I will do it.
