"We can't deny it. Yes we have received an official document requesting Shikabala's transfer," Gasser said on Wednesday.

"We tried to call the player but we failed to reach him. Anyways, our lawyers are working on the case in order to determine the validity of the request."

Gasser also implied that Shikabala's exit could be imminent, saying that big clubs like Zamalek 'never rely on a single player'.

Shikabala is looking to take advantage of a clause allowing him to rescind his current contract, given that its length has exceeded three years.

The 23-year-old, who has one year remaining in his contract, is admittedly eager to play in Europe amid serious interest from Belgian giants Anderlecht.
