Vieira joined City from Inter Milan in January, hoping he could have more playing time to be called up for the World Cup.

But he was dropped from France's squad before the South Africa trip.

The 34-year-old made 14 appearances with City, helping the club to finish in a Europa League spot.

Vieira has won three Premier League titles with his time with Arsenal, whom he left to join Juventus then Inter Milan.
