Fulham's Egyptian chairman Mohamed Al-Fayed blasted former coach Roy Hodgson after he had left the club to manage Liverpool.

Hodgson, who was recently replaced by Mark Hughes, agreed the Anfield move this summer after spending a couple of successful seasons at Craven Cottage.

"He (Hughes) has inherited a great team which had fantastic results but unfortunately this guy (Hodgson), after we put him where he is now, he took advantage and left us," said Al Fayed.

"But good luck to him, good luck to Liverpool."
