Zamalek striker Amr Zaki, who has begun to regain top form after a barren spell, denied receiving an offer to join English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

TV presenter Medhat Shalabi, who is also the Egyptian FA spokesman, said on Tuesday that Tottenham tabled a bid to acquire the services of the former Wigan Athletic and Hull City man.

"I did not receive any offer to join Tottenham. This is not true," Zaki told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.

"Anyway, I said before that I have no intention of playing abroad this season. My sole objective is to help Zamalek win a title."

Zaki returned to Zamalek in the close season after ending a short and unfruitful loan stint with English side Hull, who were eventually relegated to the second division.

His absence in the second half of last season dearly affected the Cairo club, who struggled to convert their chances upfront.

He marked his first Zamalek appearance this season with a goal in the 2-2 draw at Harras Hodoud in the team's Egyptian Premier League opener.

He converted a penalty for his first goal on the club level since December 2009.

Zaki scored his second goal in as many games when Zamalek beat Petrojet 2-0 last Sunday after heading home a corner.

The 27-year-old is forming a fine partnership with Ivorian striker Abou Kone, who joined Zamalek from Military Production in the summer.
