Treble champions Inter Milan were held to a goalless draw at Bologna in their first Serie A match of the new season.

The Nerazzurri struggled against the brave defending of their opponents, who sacked manager Franco Colomba a day before the kickoff.

Inter boss Rafa Benitez, who lost his first competitive game in the European to Atletico Madrid in the European Super Cup, was nonetheless satisfied with the Bologna draw.

"I was happy about the reaction the squad showed in the second half," he said. "We’re just lacking a bit of physical freshness."
