Free agent Ahmed Samir has completed the anticipated move to his former club Zamalek on a two-and-a-half year deal for EGP 3.5 million.

"Samir put pen to paper on Saturday noon and will start his adventure in January," Zamalek marketing director Ashraf Sobhi told FilGoal.com.

"Both parties had initially agreed a three-and-a-half year deal but they had a disagreement over the fee, so the length of the contract was shortened."

Right back Samir, who recently parted company with Belgian side Lierse because he was kept on the sidelines, will be paid the EGP 3.5 million in three installments.

Zamalek were searching for a right back amid the inconsistency of Ahmed Ghanem and the lack of experience of youngster Omar Gaber.

Samir, 29, kicked off his professional career at Baladeya and then switched to Zamalek, where he spent three years.

He also plied his trade at Harras Hodoud before moving to Belgium.
