Samuel Eto'o scored twice as Cameroon opened their 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers with a 3-1 victory over Mauritius on Saturday.

The Inter Milan striker, who scored two goals in Cameroon's disappointing World Cup campaign, broke the deadlock in the 36th minute.

Jonathan Bru drew the hosts level four minutes later but Eto'o restored Cameroon's advantage two minutes after the restart.

Eric Choupo-Moting converted a penalty on the hour mark to seal the Indomitable Lions' victory.

Spanish coach Javier Clemente enjoyed a winning start after replacing Frenchman Paul Le Guen at Cameroon's helm last month.

Senegal meet DR Congo in the other Group E game on Sunday.

Uganda caused an upset in Group J after crushing Angola 3-0 in Kampala.

Goals from David Obua, Andrew Mwesigwa and Geoffrey Sserunkuma gave Uganda an opening victory at the expense of 2010 Nations Cup hosts Angola.

Botswana moved closer to their first ever appearance at the biennial competition after beating Togo 2-1 in Gaborone.

Joel Mogorosi gave Botswana the lead after five minutes but Togo's Serge Fiakpe equalized in the 50th minute.

Jerome Ramatlhakwane handed Botswana all three points with a late strike.

Botswana are on top of Group K with 10 points from four games. Tunisia, who face Malawi later on Saturday, have three points from two games.
