Ismaili winger Ahmed Samir Farag admitted being involved in negotiations with Ahli but stressed that he would only leave the coastal club to ply his trade abroad.

"Yes, some of Ahli's officials opened talks with me but I assure that I have no intention of leaving Ismaili for the time being," he told Modern TV.

"Ahli are a high-profile club that any player would be glad to join. However, I'm staying put.

"I would only depart to sign for a foreign side."

On the other hand, Ahli's marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi denied that the Red Devils had approached Farag, who still has a year and a half on his contract with Ismaili.

The Dervishes had earlier announced that they want to hold onto the 24-year-old, who has impressively scored three goals in as many league games so far this season.
