Ittihad's poor run went from bad to worse after they suffered an embarrassing 6-3 defeat by Military Production in a thrilling Egyptian Premier League game on Friday.

A hat-trick from Ghanaian striker Kwabena Yaro helped Production dismantle hosts Ittihad, who were jeered by their own fans after slumping to their third defeat in seven matches.

The heavy loss leaves Ittihad third from bottom in the 16-team league table with six points.

The Alexandria-based club's Brazilian coach Carlos Cabral is facing an uncertain future, with reports suggesting that he will be shown the door in the next few hours.

Production, who suffered a late 2-1 defeat by defending champions Ahli in their previous game, top the table on a temporary basis with 13 points from eight matches.

Surprise package Police Union could leapfrog them if they beat Ismaili later in the day.

Frantic Half

A frantic first half witnessed goals galore, thanks to some slack defending at both ends.

Cameroonian striker Marc Mboua gave Ittihad the lead after five minutes when he skipped past two defenders inside the area before firing home for his second goal of the season.

Yaro, who joined Production in the close season from Ghana's Asante Kotoko, leveled the score two minutes later when he flicked a free-kick past Ittihad's poorly-positioned keeper Al-Hani Soliman.

An own goal by Mohamed Fawzi in the 17th minute helped Production go in front but the central defender needed one minute to make amends and set up forward Ahmed Galal for Ittihad's second goal.

Mboua's teammate and compatriot Edet Otobong gave Ittihad a 3-2 lead on 41 minutes with a far-post header.

However, Yaro scored two goals in quick succession on the stroke of halftime to complete his hat-trick and turn the match on its head.

His left-footed volley from inside the area went past the stranded Soliman, whose mistake allowed Yaro to notch home again few seconds later.

Two second-half goals from Saied Mourad and Mohamed Shedid gave Production an impressive win over a lackluster Ittihad side.

The visitors could have also won by a wider margin but squandered a host of clear-cut chances in the dying minutes.
