France legend Zinedine Zidane, the advisor of Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez, says he's ready to work closer to head coach Jose Mourinho.

Zizo, who hung up his boots after the 2006 World Cup, is expected to be more involved in the first-team matters as Mourinho asked him to.

The 38-year-old said his new role with the Portuguese tactician should make the communication between Perez and the senior team more effective.

"I will work with him (more regularly)," said Zidane.

"It will be seen in the coming weeks. I will be a link between the first team and the president.

"I want to work more with Mourinho. It suits me in a way, because I wanted to get more involved in the structure of the club."
