"I have started negotiations with Zamalek to improve my contract," Yasser told FilGoal.com on Friday.
"But the board of directors wants to set a five-million release clause in the new contract. This is a large sum of money, I can not accept that.
"Their wish comes after we already agreed to set a release clause of $600,000."
Yasser joined Zamalek last January after terminating his contract with arch-rivals Ahli.
He made a fine start to his adventure with the White Knights, becoming an integral member of their starting 11 despite some disciplinary problems.
His consistent display prompted him to ask the club to improve his contract.
"We didn't want to insert any release clauses in his contract, but that was his wish," Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan, the twin brother of head coach Hossam, said.
"The board accordingly thinks that five million euros is suitable for a player of his caliber.
"This clause does not mean that we should use it. Yasser can leave without having to invoke it if he comes up with a good offer.
"We previously agreed to offload several stars such as Amr Zaki and Mido, we have no problem with that."
