Coach Mostafa Younes has decided to snub his media job to carry out his duties as Egypt's youth team manager, the Egyptian FA said on Sunday.

Younes handed in his resignation on Thursday to comply with the EFA regulations, which prohibit national team managers from working as TV presenters.

But the former Ahli player, who is contracted to Modern Sport TV, made a U-turn three days later.

"Younes is close to remaining at the helm of Egypt's youth team," the EFA said in a statement on its official website.

"He reached a preliminary agreement with the EFA to leave his media post and continue his job as Egypt's youth team manager.

"The final announcement will be made when he reaches an agreement with the channel he works for (Modern Sport) to annul his deal."

Younes steered Egypt to a place at the African Championship at the expense of Senegal last month.

Egypt's enthusiastic players carried him on their shoulders when they crushed Senegal 3-0 for a 3-1 aggregate victory that lifted them through to next year's finals in Libya.

"I have a special bond with those players and I feel that it will be very difficult for me to move away," Younes said earlier on Sunday.

"I feel depressed after the EFA said it would not allow any coach to remain working as a TV presenter."
