Ahli outcast Mohamed Shawky is not considering leaving the club, despite his current status as a fringe player in Hossam Al-Badri's selection.

The Egypt international re-joined Ahli in the summer, but could not regain his place in the Reds' busy midfield, having made a few number of appearances.

While his first-team chances don’t seem to be getting any better at the moment, Shawky insists he is staying with his favorite club.

"My relationship with the management is good and there is no reason for me to leave Ahli," the former Middlesbrough man told FilGoal.com.

"It is logic I am not playing competitive matches regularly because I need some time to regain my fitness.

"I have a contract with Ahli and no other club had contacted me for a January move."

Shawky has hardly played regular football during the past couple of years, following torrid spells at Middlesbrough and Kayserispor.

He consequently lost his place in Egypt's roster, despite playing a key role in the Pharaohs' Nations Cup victories in 2006 and 2008.
