Zamalek are in dire need to land a keeper after Essam Al-Hadari was suspended for four months in October, which makes Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed the only bona fide keeper at the club.
The Whites, who have been suffering a financial predicament since wealthy businessman Mamdouh Abbas was sacked as chairman, revealed interest in Awwad of late.
But the Dervishes are keen not to offload any of their players for the time being.
"We were contacted by Zamalek, they were asking whether we are willing to dispense with Awwad's services," Ismaili president Nassr Aboul-Hassan told FilGoal.com.
"We don't want to sell him to any club. Actually, we don't want to lose any player, Ismaili need them all."
Awwad is Ismaili's third-choice guardian after Mohamed Sobhi and Mohamed Fathi.
