Hussein Yasser is committed to Zamalek despite persistent speculation surrounding his future, his father said on Saturday.

The Qatari attacking midfielder has been involved in several disputes with coach Hossam Hassan and Zamalek's board of directors since joining last January after terminating his contract with Ahli.

Late returns from international duty and his constant demands to improve his contract did go down well with the club.

The Egyptian-born forward's agent also criticized Hassan for his client's lack of regular opportunities this season although he was an integral member of Zamalek's squad last term.

"Hussein played for Ahli and Zamalek and never failed to honor his contract with those clubs," the player's father Yasser Al-Mohamadi told Modern Kora.

"My son is committed to Zamalek and intends to see out his contract with the club."

Hussein Yasser is apparently facing a difficult task to regain his place in the White Knights' starting line-up after the emergence of youngsters Mohamed Ibrahim, Ahmed Tawfik and Alaa Ali.

In Wednesday's 3-2 victory over Ismaili, Hassan fielded Ibrahim, Ali and Shikabala behind lone striker Ahmed Gaafar, who deputizes for the injured Amr Zaki.

Qatar coach Bruno Metsu is likely to call up Yasser for the Gulf Cup of Nations, which will take place in Yemen from November 22 to December 4.

Hassan said recently that Zamalek might opt against releasing Yasser for the regional tournament, which is not included in FIFA's calendar.
