Bordeaux midfielder Wendel must have learnt something from Esperance's Michael Eneramo as he helped the French side to a highly-controversial 2-1 win over Nancy.

It started when Jaroslav Plasil curled in a 90th minute freekick that was destined into the net, only for teammate Wendel to stop the ball using his arm!

Television replays showed that the ball didn’t even cross the line.

However, Wendel was awarded for his act as referee Bartolomeu Varela said it was a goal for the hosts, following a suggestion by the linesman.

"Unfortunately, it is a bad decision from our part," said Varela after the Ligue1 game.

"My assistant was sure the ball had crossed the line. It’s a shame for Nancy."
