Geddo fit for Ismaili trip

Ahli forward Geddo has shaken off an ankle injury to become fit to play against Ismaili in Sunday's Egyptian Premier League match.

Ahli forward Geddo has shaken off an ankle injury to become fit to play against Ismaili in Sunday's Egyptian Premier League match.

The Egypt international remained a doubt till Friday but he later underwent medical examinations that – unlike the initial diagnosis – indicated he can feature for the Red Devils in the anticipated match.

Geddo, the 2010 African Cup of Nations top scorer, picked up the injury in the Pharaohs' 3-0 friendly win over Australia on Wednesday.

Ahli's official site mentioned that the former Ittihad man will take part in at least a part of the game.

Outcast Mohamed Shawky was also named for the Ismaili trip along with fellow holding midfielders Hossam Ghaly and Moataz Eno. Hossam Ashour was left out due to an ankle problem.

Youngsters Amir Sayoud and Mohamed Talaat were also excluded from Ahli's squad with a groin strain and Achilles problem respectively.

Left winger Sayed Moawad was earlier ruled out of the match due to an ankle injury too.

Defenders: Wael Gomaa – Sherif Abdul-Fadil – Ahmed Al-Sayed – Mohamed Samir – Saad Al-Din Samir – Mohamed Abdul-Fatah.

Midfielders: Ahmed Fathi – Hossam Ghaly – Moataz Eno – Mohamed Shawky – Mohamed Barakat – Mohamed Abou-Treika – Ahmed Shokri – Afrotto – Abdul-Hamid Shabana.

Strikers: Mohamed Ghaddar – Francis Doe – Geddo.
