Police Union missed out on a chance to move to second place in the Egyptian Premier League table after playing out a tame goalless draw at Arab Contractors on Saturday.

Having won a single point, Police moved to third spot on 17 points, one behind current leaders Zamalek.

In other league games, Harras Hodoud drew 1-1 with Military Production, Petrojet with Wadi Degla and Smouha with Gaish by the same scoreline.

Hodoud, who are now in ninth place, took an early lead when Ahmed Eid hit the opener after seven minutes but Mohamed Gouda restored parity 11 minutes later.

Elsewhere, a last-gasp strike from Al-Sayed Hamdi salvaged a point for Petrojet. They were about to lose 1-0 to promoted Degla, who were put ahead by a Mostafa Shebeita goal.

To the same extent, Smouha's Ahmed Belal canceled out Gaish's slender lead deep into injury time to end the match in a stalemate.
