Zamalek chairman Galal Ibrahim expressed his dismay over the rumors suggesting that Ahli and Egypt star Mohamed Abou-Treika is willing to help the crisis-hit club with a donation.

Zamalek are in the process of establishing an open donation account, in an attempt to resolve their severe financial decline.

The Cairo giants' decision was widely criticized as well taunted, with the latest rumor linking Abou-Treika with the donation plan.

"Abou-Treika is a great and magnificent footballer, but why him?" the Zamalek interim chief told Modern Sport TV.

"Involving Abou-Treika is an attempt to abuse Zamalek, which we totally reject."

Ibrahim, who is temporarily in charge of the White club, said last month that Zamalek only possess $35,000 in cash.
