Hassan twins, Hossam and Ibrahim, lodged a complaint against Masri after their fans lifted a banner that was deemed offensive to the Zamalek coach and football director during a league game on Thursday.

Masri's boisterous supporters, who used to cheer both men when they were in charge of the Port Said-based club for around 10 months in 2008, hurled insults at them during the team's stunning 3-1 defeat by promoted Smouha in Port Said.

They also held aloft a banner which read: "Let the twins howl as (Masri chairman Kamel) Abou-Ali walks on" in protest at reports suggesting that Hossam Hassan opened talks with several Masri players to sign them either in January or next summer.

"We decided to file a complaint to the Egyptian FA disciplinary committee to sanction Masri for the behavior of their fans," football director Ibrahim Hassan told FilGoal.com on Friday.

"I don't know where the stadium's stewards were when the fans lifted that banner. I think that Kamel Abou-Ali is behind what happened from those supporters."

The twins were also given a hostile reception by the visiting fans when Zamalek hosted Masri at Cairo Stadium on November 21.

The White Knights claimed a last-gasp 1-0 victory through a superb goal from youngster Mohamed Ibrahim that sent the home fans into raptures.

A war of words erupted between big-spending chairman Abou-Ali and the Hassan twins after the former doubted the legality of Zamalek's win.

Abou-Ali argued that the result should have been overturned due to the participation of trio Shikabala, Ibrahim and Omar Gaber - who allegedly feigned injury to skip Egypt's friendly game against Australia last week.

"We received a barrage of insults during the game from the visiting Masri fans," Ibrahim added.

"I asked the match commissioner to include that in his report but the disciplinary committee did not take any actions."
