Zamalek winger Hussein Yasser sustained what appeared to be a serious shoulder injury while featuring for Qatar in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia at the 20th in the Gulf Cup of Nations.

After a rough challenge the former Ahli man fell down in agony and couldn't get back up. He was stretchered off and substituted later on.

The full extent of his injury is yet to be determined. He could well miss Zamalek's next league match against Ittihad next weekend.

Yasser incurred the wrath of Zamalek when he opted to take part in the regional tournament without the consent of the club.

His absence would definitely take a toll on the firepower of the White Knights, who face their arch-rivals Ahli in the league Cairo derby on the Christmas Eve.

Yasser should return to Egypt soon after Qatar were ousted from the Gulf Cup upon drawing with Saudi.
