Shikabala incurred the wrath of Ahli fans during his ecstatic celebrations after Zamalek claimed a last-gasp 1-0 victory over Masri last week to maintain their position on top of the Egyptian Premier League.
He was filmed singing a song that insults Ahli while interacting with Zamalek's jubilant supporters.
"It is a big issue that annoyed all the people who belong to Ahli," the Red Devils' transfer guru and marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi said in a phone call with Modern Kora on Tuesday.
"That's why the board of directors is examining it to decide whether to take an action.
"But we have to take everything into consideration before making a decision. We have to see whether any legal action will be fruitful at the end or whether the problem deserves to be escalated.
"Sometimes Ahli rise above such things. We can, for example, consider Shikabala's comment that he did not mean to insult the club as an apology."
Fans Anger
Many Ahli fans expressed their anger on internet fan forums after the video was posted on sharing website YouTube.
They launched a scathing attack on Shikabala and called on Ahli's board to react.
"All the people who are involved in football should not attack each others," Al-Qaeyi added.
"Even when the fans make something wrong, the players should not follow suit in order not to appear as if they endorse such ugly taunts."
Ahli fans usually hurl insults at Shikabala during the explosive Cairo derby against arch rivals Zamalek.
Zamalek faithful repeatedly demanded that the Egyptian FA punish Ahli for what they perceive as 'racist chants' against the in-form forward, who made an impressive start to the season despite his consistent off-field problems.
Shikabala is Zamalek's top scorer with five league goals, two behind the competition's leading scorer Ahmed Abdul-Zaher of ENPPI.
Ahli and Zamalek will clash in an anticipated derby on December 31.
