Ittihad keeper Al-Hani Soliman is 'preparing psychologically' for next Friday's Egyptian Premier League at home to Ahli following his below-par display against Zamalek.

Soliman, once a target for Ahli and Zamalek, had a night to forget on Thursday.

He allowed Zamalek's wizard Shikabala to convert three free kicks, including one from an almost possible angle, as 10-man Ittihad lost 4-3 in an action-packed game.

"No one can doubt the technical abilities of Soliman, but we are puzzled by his inconsistent performances," Ittihad's goalkeeping coach Magdi Bahloul told FilGoal.com on Friday.

"I guess that his problem is psychological, so we are psychologically preparing him for the Ahli clash."

Soliman was heavily criticized of late following a string of poor displays which cost the struggling Ittihad more than once.

The Alexandria-based club lie at the bottom of the 16-team league table with mere nine points from 12 games.

"We can't field a substitute keeper instead of Soliman," Bahloul added.

"If we do this, Soliman's form could further deteriorate. The substitute guardian's morale could also be affected if he played badly against Ahli."
