Elmohamady, Zidan to miss Qatar friendly

Egypt will be without Europe-based duo Ahmed Elmohamady and Mohamed Zidan in the friendly game with Qatar on December 16th due to commitment with their respective clubs.<br>

Egypt will be without Europe-based duo Ahmed Elmohamady and Mohamed Zidan in the friendly game with Qatar on December 16th due to commitment with their respective clubs.

"We will be focusing on the group that featured for us during the previous phase, excluding Elmohamady and Zidan who are both staying with their clubs," said Egypt manager Hassan Shehata.

Clubs in Europe have the right to keep their players at times of international matches that are not included in FIFA's agenda, which applies for the Qatar meeting.

Two days after the match, Elmohamady's Sunderland host Bolton in the English Premier League, whereas Zidan's Dortmund visit Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

Shehata will announces his squad for the match on Saturday.
