Flavio's agent Nader Shawki hinted on Sunday that the Angolan striker could move to Zamalek on loan when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Shawki refused to disclose the club's name but said it was a popular one in Cairo.

His statement indicated two possibilities - Flavio could either return to Ahli, where he enjoyed a highly-successful four-year spell, or arch rivals Zamalek.

"The Ahli-Flavio chapter is closed," Shawki said in a television interview, leaving Zamalek as the only logical option available for the 30-year-old.

Flavio joined Saudi side Shabab in the summer of 2009, scoring 16 goals in his first season before sustaining a serious knee injury that sidelined him for around six months.

Ahli said they would be interested in bringing him back to the club on a permanent basis but Shawki told FilGoal.com recently that the Red Devils would not afford matching his hefty price tag.

Zamalek, who are suffering the same strike problems which hinder Ahli, are seemingly waiting on the wings to sign Flavio on a six-month loan.

Professional Player

"I can't reveal the club's name, but it is located in Cairo," Shawki, who is also the agent of several Egyptian high-profile players including Zamalek frontman Amr Zaki, said.

"Flavio already can't play with Shabab in the second half of the season because he was not registered in their squad after picking up the knee injury.

"Given that he is accustomed to life in Cairo, he might be tempted with a return to the city.

"Flavio is a professional player, he can play everywhere," Shawki added in response to a question over whether his client could join one of Ahli's competitors.

Ahli have long relied on the aerial prowess of Flavio to overcome Zamalek during the past few years.

The glum-looking Angolan notched five goals in the Cairo derby - three in the Egyptian Premier League and two in the African Champions League.
