Ahli’s second-string team were handed a surprise 1-0 home defeat to lower division side Goldi as trainee Muhamadu Ibad failed to impress.

The Ghanaian-Dutch striker was introduced as a second-half substitute as manager Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Shafi ‘Zizo’ made ten changes at half time.

But a first-half penalty by Ibrahim Asfoura was enough to down the league champions, who have a number of players away on international duty with Egypt.

Midfielder Hossam Ashour was introduced at half time following more than a month out with an ankle injury.

Youngsters Alaa Shaaban, Hussein Al-Sayed, Abdullah Abdul-Azim, Ahmed Nabil ‘Manga’, Rami Rabia, Saad Samir, Mohamed Mokhtar and Moemen Gaber also played part in the game.

Ahli, who are without a win in their last four league games, prepare to face Harras Hodoud in a rescheduled match next week.
