The Red Devils are seeking to find a replacement for their former coach Hossam Al-Badri, who handed in his resignation following a disappointing 3-1 defeat at bitter rivals Ismaili last month.
Reports linked the likes of German Winfred Schafer, Frenchman Herve Renard and Portuguese Paulo Duarte with Ahli's vacant managerial seat but the club remain tight-lipped over the new tactician's identity.
"The new manager will be unveiled following the match against Zamalek," former Ahli defender Hadi Khashaba, who is occupying an administrative post in the club's football committee, said on their official website.
"The club will continue to consider the available options until it settles on the new manager at the end of the month."
Ahli are currently led by club icon and interim coach Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Shafi 'Zizo'.
The defending champions' hopes of claiming a seventh consecutive Egyptian Premier League title were handed a blow after a four-match winless streak.
They are seven points behind leaders Zamalek, who have not won the league since 2004, but have a game in hand over their arch rivals.
