Zamalek chairman Galal Ibrahim protested against the hostile chants made by Ahli supporters toward starman Shikabala after the Reds’ 2-1 win over Harras Hodoud on Monday.

Insulting chants against Shikabala came out from the Ultras Ahlawy stands in Ahli’s first home game since the start of November.

The taunts are believed to be in response to an earlier act made by Shika after the 1-0 win over Masri on November 21st, when he was caught by a camera insulting Ahli, along with a number of Zamalek fans.

“We decided to make an official complaint to the FA against the inappropriate behavior of the Ahli fans,” Zamalek president Ibrahim said.

“It is true that Shikabala might have provoked the Ahli fans before, but we cannot allow this aberration against us.”

Meanwhile, competitions committee chief Amer Hussein indicated that the Zamalek compliant will be discussed in FA meeting next week.

Personal

Shikabala is trying not to get distracted by the confrontation ahead of this month’s crunch Cairo derby against the league holders.

“I know what the Ahli Ultras are preparing for me in the derby, but I am not willing to listen,” the 24-year-old said.

“All my focus is with the team and I don’t want to be distracted by any personal issue. We have an important game coming against Wadi Degla.”

Zamalek can go seven points clear of Ahli with another win over strugglers Degla on Friday.
