Egyptian Premier League strugglers Smouha have entered negotiations with Ahli over the possibility of loaning defender Ahmed Al-Sayed and youngster Alaa Shaaban.

“We approached Ahli for the duo and they have no problem about Shaaban, but are still considering Al-Sayed option,” Smouha chairman Farag Amer told FilGoal.com.

“They asked for two of our players (Godwin Attram and Ahmed Hamoudi) in return, but we can’t let them go because we need them in such a difficult situation we are facing.”

Ahli vice-captain Al-Sayed has hardly been consistent this season as the league holders encountered difficulties with their defense.

On the other hand, 20-year-old winger Shaaban has been one of the stars of the youth team, which promoted interim manager Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Shafi ‘Zizo’ to promote him to the first team recently.
