The White knights allowed the 28-year-old to fly to Qatar on Saturday but they are looking to have him back for Thursday's anticipated match.
Qatar manager Bruno Metsu said it's a 'must' to have Yasser available for pre-tournament warm-up matches against Iran and North Korea on December 28 and 31 respectively.
But apparently Zamalek will not take no for an answer, having named the former Ahli man in their initial squad for the league clash.
Hossam Hassan's side should try once again to talk Qatar into giving Yasser permission to feature in crucial game.
The Cairo side, who are topping the Egyptian Premier League table, also included Sabri Rahil and Alaa Ali in the squad after both players had recuperated from respective injuries.
Zamalek's initial squad:
Goalkeepers: Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed, Mostafa Abdul-Sattar
Defenders: Hani Saied, Mahmoud Fathallah, Amr Al-Safti, Amr Gaber, Ahmed Ghanem, Mohamed Abdul-Shafi, Sabri Rahil
Midfielders: Hassan Mostafa, Ibrahim Salah, Mohamed Ibrahim, Hossam Arafat, Alaa Ali, Ahmed Tawfik, Hazem Emam, Shikabala, Ashour Al-Adham, Hussein Yasser
