The Egyptian forward became a free agent after parting ways with Ajax on Tuesday, amid interest from Spanish Liga duo Deportivo Lacuruna and Espanyol.
“Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan (football director) called me, yes,” Mido replied to Modern Kora TV when asked by Ahmed Shobeir.
“I told them I’ll think about it. I need to consider my options carefully before coming to a final decision because I expect a war against me if I decided to return to Egypt.
“I still have offers from Deportivo and Espanyol, but if I decided to return to Zamalek it will be on a short-term deal.”
Mido spent a short stint at Zamalek last season, but failed to impress under the management of Hassan, scoring one goal in the process.
The 27-year-old then joined West Ham on loan from Middlesbrough, but also struggled to rediscover his form at Bloeyn Ground.
