Substitute Ahmed Elmohamady played for about 30 minutes as Sunderland slumped to a 2-1 defeat by Notts County in the FA Cup Saturday to wave goodbye to the competition.

Elmohamady replaced Cristian Riveros on 61 minutes when Notts were up by one goal.

The Egyptian wide man put in an assured display and was energetic as usual but his impact wasn't enough for the Black Cats to overturn their goal deficit.

Craig Westcarr put the League One outfit ahead only after five minutes before Lee Hughes doubled their lead 15 minutes from time.

Darren Bent pulled one back for Sunderland upon converting a penalty kick in the 81st minute.
