The Whites snapped up former right-back Samir this winter, in an attempt from manager Hossam Hassan to add more depth to his backline.
“Competition will be difficult after Samir’s arrival,” Ghanem, who is currently with Zamalek in a mid-season camp in the UAE, told FilGoal.com.
“This camp will be like a war to me. I have to compete with Samir in order to keep my place. It will be tough because he is more experienced than me, but it is all for the team’s benefit.”
In addition to Ghanem and Samir, Hassan has the attack-minded Hazem Emam as another option down the right flank.
