Villarreal midfielder Ruben Cani scored what could be the goal of the season in Spain, smashing a magnificent lob from some 50 yards out against Osasuna.

Cani, who scored against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in last week’s 4-2 defeat, was this time with the winning side as Villarreal downed their visitors by the same scoreline.

It was just three minutes after Osasuna equalized when the Spaniard stunned goalkeeper Ricardo with the unstoppable effort.

Cani’s strike
