Egypt suffered their second defeat in a row in the 2011 Handball World Championship, losing 28-19 to holders France on Sunday.

The first half ended 12-8 in favor of the European giants, who could have won by a more comprehensive margin if it wasn’t for Egypt goalie Hamada Al-Nakib.

Despite the defeat, Egypt’s veteran goalkeeper claimed the Man of the Match award thanks to a string of brilliant saves.

“I am happy to win this award, but its of no use since the rest of the team is off-form,” Al-Nakib said after the game.

“There is something wrong. We played badly and I think we need to be more focused before our next game.”

Egypt clash with North African rivals Tunisia on Monday.
