Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan implied that Shikabala’s inclusion in the trip to Kenya’s Ulinzi Stars could mean a punishment rather than a reprieve.

Shikabala was involved in a scuffle with Hassan in the wake of Zamalek’s recent draw with Military Production, before the temperamental midfielder skipped two training sessions without leave.

He subsequently returned to training and was named in the Whites’ squad for the Ulinzi match, but has been fined for indiscipline.

“He has been fined EGP 100,000 for crossing the line after the Production match, in addition to EGP 8,000 for missing training,” Ibrahim Hassan, the twin brother of coach Hossam told FilGoal.com.

“We’ve been very lenient with him and this is the least-possible penalty. His inclusion in the Ulinzi-match squad is irrelevant as well.

“For some players, traveling to countries inside Africa is a punishment.

“This is apart from the fact that his inclusion doesn’t necessarily mean that he will take part in the game.”

Shikabala was embroiled in a similar disciplinary case with the Hassans in July last year, when he wanted to leave the club after Belgian Anderlecht showed official interest in signing him.
