The domestic competition has been postponed indefinitely in the wake of the Egyptian Revolution that took place over the past few weeks.
While things are gradually getting back to normal in Egypt, the FA arranged a meeting with club representatives on Sunday to discuss the fate of the 2010-2011 league season.
The meeting resulted in a number of recommendations as stated by the FA’s website including:
-Requesting the quick restart of the Premier League along with other competitions, in arrangement with the country’s authorities.
-The possibility of exceptionally annulling relegation this season.
-The possibility of resuming league matches behind closed doors.
-Setting a limit for the high values of footballers and capping salaries.
-Notifying the Prime Minister and the Supreme Council of Sports Chief about the government’s financial commitments towards clubs.
-The process of remarketing the league competition in an efficient way.
The FA is expected to come to a final decision regarding the date of resuming the league competition after consulting with the Military junta; the nation’s current leading authority.
Bottom duo Arab Contractors and Wadi Degla were the only two clubs to miss Sunday’s meeting at the FA headquarters.
