Egypt U-20 coach Hani Ramzi heaped praise on his men in the wake of their 2-0 friendly victory over the senior team of Sudan's Hilal Monday.

"The players took the match quite seriously and that helped us be in control most of the time and beat a high-profile team in Hilal," the former Egypt defender said.

"Their backline lacked organization and that also paved the way for us to win the game that gave us a morale boost."

Hesham Mohamed and Ahmed Saied scored one apiece to seal the victory for the young Pharaohs.

Most of Hilal's key figures were left out to rest ahead of their anticipated match against Merreikh, including Alaa Al-Din Youssef and Omar Bhekit.

"I noticed that a number of Hilal's regulars missed the game while those who took part were keen to protect themselves from possible injuries ahead of their match with Merreikh.

"But that didn't affect the enthusiasm of our players at all," Ramzi added.

Egypt U-20 are preparing for their 2012 Olympic Games qualifier against Batswana, which takes place on 26 March.
