South Africa have decided to move this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt to Ellis Park instead of the FNB Stadium.

"The match will be taking place at Ellis Park," South African Football Association (SAFA) chairman Kirsten Nematandani told KickOff.com.

"We had a press release showing when the match will be taking place. It was sent the day before yesterday I think, or maybe I was just sent a copy and it hasn't gone out."

"The FNB has been engaged in a number of issues, so we chose another facility that was available.

The conditions there have not been very good and we had some issues regarding the changing rooms over the weekend so we didn't want to take a chance."

The Ellis Park Stadium featured a historic win for Egypt against Italy in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, courtesy of a memorable Mohamed Hommos goal.

On the other hand, the FNB, known as Soccer City Stadium, hosted the 2010 World Cup final between Spain and Holland.
