The 23-year-old admitted that he wasn’t comfortable with Wotte’s view regarding his playing position, but indicated that he now feels more mature to accept the Dutchman’s decisions.
“I used to complain when the manager kept on playing me in two positions (sweeper and defensive midfielder). I thought it was a distraction,” Khairi told FilGoal.com.
“But the revolution has changed my character. It helped me find peace with myself and with my manager.
“Now I don’t care where I play. I am only concerned about the restart of the season and returning to the pitch.”
Khairi, who is regarded as one of the most promising midfield talents in Egypt, was hampered by a back during the past couple of seasons which cost him his place in the national team roster.
