South Africa manager Pitso Mosimane believes that the upcoming meeting between Supersport United and Ahli will benefit the Bafana squad ahead of the crucial CAN 2012 qualifier with Egypt this month.

South African champions Supersport will visit their Egyptian counterparts in a Champions League round of 32 tie on March 18, one week before the Pharaohs clash with Bafana.

With two Supersport players set to be included in his squad, Mosimane highlighted the importance of the continental showdown to his side.

"It's good for Bafana players such as Morgan Gould and Kermit Erasmus to go there and experience the atmosphere. Their quality will reflect on Bafana Bafana,” he said.

"Gould will mark their top strikers and he will bring that experience to Bafana. Erasmus will know how it feels to be kicked and chased by the Egyptians. You cannot buy that kind of experience.

"We went to Egypt when I was still coaching Supersport and young players such as Siboniso Gaxa learnt a great deal. We reached the group stages and that is how we turned that club around. "

Advantage

Mosimane, who succeeded Brazilian Carlos Alberto Parreira after the 2010 World Cup, hopes to take advantage of the recent political turmoil in Egypt.

"The matches against Al-Ahly and Egypt are equally important for the country. These games will show us how we are progressing as a nation, " he added.

"Egypt have been affected by the protests and we have to take advantage. This is also an opportunity for United and Bafana to stop this North African domination of the continent. "
